Peggy Jo Batts Davis, age 64, of Kenansville and formerly of Wallace left this life for her eternal rest on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 27, 1952 in New Hanover County and was the daughter of the late Winfred and Ernestine Williams Batts. She was also predeceased by her great grandsons, Danny and Hayden.
Peggy is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Norman Davis, Jr. of the home; son, Jerry Davis and wife, Billie Jo of Wallace; daughter, Tonyia Davis of Kenansville; grandchildren, Austin Davis, Samantha Davis, Jessica Brown, Jerry Davis, Jr., Zoie Bostic, Jake Bostic and Shaun Carlton; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Allen Batts of Wallace and Marty Batts and wife, Linda of Willard; very best friend, Kim Widener of Delaware and numerous family and friends that loved Peggy dearly.
Peggy was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She especially loved her children and was very proud of each of them. With a love for people and a heart full of compassion, Peggy was always willing to help others in need. Before the years of paid EMT's, Peggy faithfully served over 25 years in Duplin County as an Emergency Medical Technician. She was very devoted to EMS, did not take it lightly and enjoyed helping those in need of medical attention. Peggy was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle and loving presence to all who were blessed to know her. Peggy will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
