Peggy Ann Hunt, age 73, of Rose Hill died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Born April 22, 1938 in Duplin County she was the daughter of the late Johnny L. and Eldora Fussell Johnson. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Ray Johnson and Jerry Johnson.

Mrs. Hunt was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, James E. "Buck" Hunt of the home; daughter, Mary Ann Hunt and husband, Billy of Hope Mills; grandsons, Hunter Michael Cole and Justin Lee Cole and brother, Odeas "Toby" Johnson and wife, Janice of Rose Hill.

Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery with The Reverend Sammy Boone and The Reverend Richard Phillips officiating.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel.

Peggy was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and sister. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She was a diligent homemaker and with a joyful spirit she filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered. Being a good neighbor and friend she was loved by all. Peggy will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
