Obituary

Peggy Rivenbark Pridgen, 78, of Wilmington passed from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Friday, November 18, 2011 at her home surrounded by her caring family.

She was born February 20, 1933, the daughter of the late Howard Lee and Nancy Clara Johnson Rivenbark. Also lovingly remembered are her husband, Bobby L. Pridgen; daughter, Barbara Suzanne Pridgen English, four sisters and four brothers, all who preceded Peggy in death.

Peggy leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Steve B. Pridgen (Jeanne Baum) of Wilmington and Scott Pridgen of Wrightsville Beach; son-in-law, Michael V. English (Johannah) of Wilmington; daughter-in-law, Julie B. Pridgen of Ohio; grandchildren, Wesley Pridgen, Stephen Pridgen, Caleb English, and Waylon Ashburn; sister, Betty Harrell (Francis) of Castle Hayne; and many extended family and dear friends.

Peggy was a long time member of Seagate Baptist Church.

Peggy was a joyful spirit who dearly loved her family and was the best mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend anyone could ask for. There was nothing more that Peggy enjoyed than family, laughter and fishing. Peggy will truly be remembered for her steadfast faith in the Lord, strong spirit, and her beautiful smile.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Debbie Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home until time of the service.

Casketbearers will be Wesley Pridgen, Stephen Pridgen, Mike English, Mark Williams, Ben Rivenbark, Tommy Norris and Caleb English.

Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice and to Peggy's family, friends and caregivers for their tender loving care and support all through Peggy's illness.
