Peter Darnell Wilson, 60, of Burgaw passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at his sister's home.

He was born November 16, 1952 in Horry County, SC and was the son of the late Canon E. Wilson and Mary Louise Brown Wilson Rackley.

Peter is survived by his sisters, Mary M. Pridgen and her husband, Marvin, Rebecca A. Reese and her husband, Teddy and Nancy F. Fessler and her husband, Harold; brothers, William N. Wilson and his wife, Kathy and Thomas E. Wilson; 14 nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and great nephews; four great great nieces and great great nephews; and many friends.

Peter was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Wallace Branch.

Peter loved his family and they took wonderfully good care of him during his illness. His love in life was his seven year old dog, Tammy, a cross between a Sheltie and a Corgi. Being handy with tools, Peter was a diligent worker who could fix anything and was always willing to share his expertise with others. When he was not working, he enjoyed playing cards with friends and sharing a good joke. His sparkling sense of humor remained until the very end. He will be remembered for his faith in God, strong work ethic, his laughter, and his joy in life.

The family will have a time of sharing and visitation at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw on Thursday from 6 to 8:00 p.m.
