He was born October 30, 1954 in Wilmington, the son of Martha Mitchell Potter of Kelly and the late Horace Henry Potter.
In addition to his mother Phil leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Susie Potter; children, Heather Robinson (Richard), Shannon Edwards (Matthew), Melissa Edge (Jody), James Correia IV, Kevin Correia, and Kristy Correia; grandchildren, Caitlin Robinson, Andrew Robinson, Austin Robinson, Evan Edwards, Savannah Edwards, Willow Edge, Dawson Edge, Trenton Correia and Bryson Hughes; brothers, Greg Potter and Michael Potter (Jennifer); sister, Anne Bullard; many aunts and uncles; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Phil was a member of Centerville Baptist Church. As owner of Potter's Long Hauling he spent many happy hours on the road and was known by his CB handle, "Nervous Wreck."
First and foremost Phil loved and took care of his beloved family, being the BEST son, husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother, uncle and friend. No one loved and enjoyed life more than Phil as he enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and all of God's nature. In years past his passion was his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle as he was an avid rider. All those who knew Phil were impressed by his mischievous ways, his exuberate personality and his indomitable Spirit. Among the legacies Phil will leave are the importance of God, family and friends. Phil's family would like to thank his extended family and friends for the love and support during his recent illness.
