Rachael Brown Wilkerson, age 91, of Temple Terrace, Florida and formerly of Burgaw died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in October 24, 1916 in Burgaw and was the daughter of the late Haywood F. and Olivia Rainey Brown. She was also predeceased by her sister, Hazel Brown.

Mrs. Wilkerson was raised in Burgaw and as a young lady moved to Norfolk, Virginia where she worked in the accounting department of the Navel Air Rework Facility for twenty-three years before retiring in Florida. She was a member of Oceanview Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, James B. and Judy Wilkerson and their son, Jerome of Temple Terrace, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Mike Chelstowski of Reading, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Helen Brown of Burgaw; sister, Margaret Carpenter of Rocky Mount; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Mark Rogers officiating.

Burial will follow in Burgaw Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be James B. Wilkerson, Jerome Wilkerson, Charles Wells and Danny Raynor.
