Obituary

Rachel Anne Saunders Williams, 69, of Rose Hill left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from Brian Center of Wallace.

She was born August 30, 1945 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Hank and Sue Herring Saunders. She was also predeceased by her husband, Hooper Luther Williams and brother, Bill Saunders.

Anne was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Women's Club and sang in the choir as her health permitted.

Surviving is her son, Walter Williams of Raleigh; step-daughters, Deanna Williams Huffines and Lee Williams Turner and husband, Frank, all of Raleigh; four grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.

Anne was a loving mother and caring grandmother, sister and friend. She found great joy in the simplest things in life but her greatest joy was family and friends. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace; and to those who knew her, "an instrument of God's love on this earth." Anne's love for the Lord was shown by her example throughout her life. She spent a lot of time at Rockfish Meadows which she enjoyed so much. Being a friend to all, she was a strong yet gentle presence who looked for and encouraged the best in everyone. Anne will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
