Ralph Randall Bordeaux, age 74, of Castle Hayne, NC passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on January 20, 1948 in Wilmington, NC to the late Ralph Bordeaux and Rose Kerr Bordeaux.

Ralph joined the U.S. Navy in 1969 and was a Plank Owner (an original crew member) aboard the USS Virginia, a nuclear-powered missile cruiser. Ralph traveled the world and every corner of the U.S. as he served on the USS Josephus Daniels, USS Virginia and USS Long Beach. He stayed on as a Reserve in the Navy until 1983. During 1977-1983, Ralph served as a Police Officer in Pascagoula, MS. During his naval service, Ralph earned his Mechanical Engineer Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He went on to work for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Ralph retired after working 20 years with Supervisor of ShipBuilding (SUPSHIP) Gulf Coast. Ralph was a military history enthusiast. He loved nature and Genealogy. Ralph was a bright light to many people and will be dearly missed - Fair winds and following seas.

Ralph is survived by his sons, John Bordeaux and wife, Ires, and Randy Bordeaux and wife, Elaine; daughters, Melissa Bordeaux and Briana Deverau; brothers, James Bordeaux and wife, Caroline, and Dennis Bordeaux and wife, Kim; and grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, Wyatt, and Daniel.

A memorial service will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2pm.
