Raymond Gerald Barcomb, Sr., 76, of Wallace, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 9, 1934 in Albany, New York, the son of the late Herman and Cordelia Monette Barcomb. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Kipphut.

Mr. Barcomb served his country honorably in the US Navy. He was Sir Knight of Monsignor Michael Irvin Assembly 2490 and past Grand Knight of Council 11848 in Clinton. He was also a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir.

Surviving are his loving wife of fifty-five years, Marie Hayes Barcomb of the home; his devoted children, Theresa Philibert of Wallace, Bernadette Gresczyk and husband, Bruce of New Hartford, Connecticut, Raymond Barcomb, Jr. and wife, Robin of Clinton, Ellen Knowles and husband, Gary of Hollywood, Florida, John Barcomb and wife, Son Hwa of Harker Heights, Texas, Matthew Barcomb and wife, Sylvia of Pembroke Pines, Florida and Mark Barcomb and wife, Christine of Clinton; twenty-three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous friends.

Roman Catholic Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Transfiguration Catholic Church with Father Rafael A. Leon Valencia officiating.

Burial will be in Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church Cemetery, Newton Grove.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 3, 2010 with the Rosary being said at 7:00 pm at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
