Raymond Pierce, age 78, of Wallace passed from this earthly life to his eternal rest on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

He was born on May 21, 1945, in Wilmington, NC; the son of the late William and Dollie Mills Pierce.  Mr. Pierce was also preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Ilene Pierce; his siblings, Willie Pierce, Earl Pierce, Leroy Pierce, Donald Pierce, Howard Pierce and Betty P. Parker.

Ray was a member of Poston Baptist Church and often attended services at Wallace First Assembly of God.  He loved both churches and enjoyed worshipping at each of them.

Surviving is his sister, Mildren P. Gurganious of Wallace; his canine companions, 'Major' and 'Dobie'; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved him dearly.

Ray was a 'jack of all trades", as well as a workaholic.  He was very talented and could fix almost anything.  Being a simple man, Ray enjoyed the simplest things in life, but his greatest joy was family including Major and Dobie.  He spoiled them daily by giving them each two treats a day.  Ray's family is comforted in knowing that Ray had rededicated his life to Christ. Ray was a kind man and loved everyone and was loved in return.  He will surely be missed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
