Rebecca "Becky" Gail Heustess English Rooks, age 70, of Watha, North Carolina passed away unexpectantly on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
She was born on February 18, 1956 in Columbus County, NC; the daughter of the late David and Julia White Heustess. Becky was also preceded in death by her son Michael Smith.
Becky was a member of Watha Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Watha, NC.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 13 years Terry Rooks of Watha; her daughter Shannon Smith of Wilmington; grandchildren Peyton Grizzle and wife Haleigh and Caleb Smith; great granddaughter Paisleigh Grizzle; stepdaughter Tammie Tart and husband Marcus, Jr.; step granddaughter Mallorie English and husband Sean; step grandson Blayne Tart; sisters Elizabeth Blanchard and husband Edwin of Warsaw and Sonya Heustess of Pittsburg, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved Becky dearly.
Becky was a loving wife and great mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed the simplest things in life but her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed being outside - working with flowers and in her yard. In her younger years and before her accident, Becky loved to go shagging. She enjoyed being with friends and especially spending time with her family. Becky enjoyed ceramics and was known for her beautiful silver hair. She loved her church and church family and most of all, she loved the Lord. Becky will surely be missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
