Refo Lanier Bradshaw, age 85, of Willard died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville.

He was born March 29, 1923 in Duplin County and was the son of the late Jesse Eugene and Ommie Jane Evans Bradshaw. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Bradshaw, H.T. Bradshaw and Jesse John "J.J." Bradshaw and sister, Dorothy Bradshaw.

Mr. Bradshaw served his country honorably for over twenty years in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his devoted daughter, Vernie Medlin and husband, Steven of Durham; grandson, Randy Jay Rich and wife, Katie of Durham; great grandson, Austin Wade Rich of Durham and sister, Daphne Denny of Willard.

Graveside funeral service will be conducted with military honors 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Riverview Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Manning officiating.

The family will receive friends 2:00 to 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service Sunday at Riverview Memorial Park.
