Renise Bullard, age 79, of Ivanhoe passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 27, 1932 in Sampson County and was the son of the late Leslie and Blannie Smith Bullard. Also remembered are his beloved wife, Christine Pridgen Bullard; his brothers, J. C., Jessie and Herman Bullard; and his sister, Bertha Barnhill.

Renise is survived by his son, Renise Bruce Bullard of Rocky Point; daughter, Anita Bullard Blizzard and her husband, Dean of Willard; grandchildren, Hannah Herring and her husband, Nick of Rose Hill, Dalton Gurganus of Willard and Tanner Blizzard of Currie; and great granddaughter, Brailynn Herring.

Renise was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church. For many years he was owner and operator of Bullard's Pool Room in Burgaw.

Renise possessed a keen intellect, sharp wit and an engaging personality. He was a people person, never meeting a stranger, always ready with conversation and a humorous joke. Renise enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Always maintaining a positive attitude Renise made you feel better just being in his presence. Above all Renise loved his family. Cherished memories will always be treasured.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Harmony Presbyterian Church with C.L.P. Herbert Pate officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Casketbearers will be Darryl Bullard, Jamie Bullard, Anthony Norris, Keith Pridgen, Dalton Gurganus and Ronald Bullard.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
