Richard Morris Ballard, age 86, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at his home in Atkinson.

He was born September 21, 1937 in Hopewell, Virginia, the son of Linwood K. Ballard and Mary Louise Griffith Ballard.

Richard is survived by his sons, Richard M. Ballard, Jr. and Charles R. Ballard, Sr.; grandson, Charles R. Ballard, Jr.; great granddaughters, Fia Ballard and Charlotte Ballard; sister, Linda Evans (David); brother, Rodney Ballard (Lydia); and other relatives and friends.

Richard was a kind man with a good heart.
