Richard "Ricky" Delane Croom, age 52, of Burgaw passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.

He was born in Pender County on March 8, 1959 and was the son of Rachel Lee Blanton Croom of the home and the late Jerry Paul Croom.

In addition to his mother Ricky is survived by his sisters, Patricia "Pat" Lynn Klink (Keith) of Beulaville and Laura Ann Lewis of Dunn; brothers, Mitchell "Mickey" Croom (Ona) of Beulaville and Ray Croom (Kathy) of Davy, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

Ricky will be remembered as kind man who loved his family and friends. He had a passion for baseball, hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. Cherished memories of Ricky will forever remain in our hearts and he will be deeply missed.

A graveside funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Rivenbark Cemetery, 3822 Penderlea Hwy, Watha, NC with the Rev. W. E.Smith officiating.

Casketbearers will be Jay Shieffield, Jessie Shieffield, Richard Hunter, Barry Blanton, Keith Klink Jr. and Kevin Klink.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw.
