Richard Leo English, age 50, of Burgaw died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at his home.

He was born April 19, 1957 in Wilmington, the son of the late James Leo and Beulah Perry English.

Mr. English was a plumbing contractor for many years in New Hanover and Pender Counties.

Surviving are his devoted wife of thirty years, Judy English of the home; his son, Stephen English of the home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and David James and Elizabeth "Billie" and William Carrol all of Wilmington; brother, James "Jimmy" English of Wilmington; and sisters-in-law who so generously helped with Richard's care, Lura Sue Lechel and her husband, Charlie of Wilmington and Margaret Ann Parsons of Sneeds Ferry. Richard will be sadly missed by his friends, Ronnie Flowers of Wilmington, Edward Davis of Ivanhoe and his longtime friend and "brother", Mark Milam of West Virginia.

The family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw prior to the funeral service.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Mike Parsons officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear hospice and LifeCareCenter, 2222 S. 17th St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
