Richard William Jocheim, 65, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on May 11, 1955 in Wilmington, NC to the late Richard Henry Jocheim and Mary Catherine Harris.

Richard was a devout Baptist who attended Long Leaf Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Port City taxi driver. Richard was a very loving and giving person. He cared more about others than he did himself.

Richard is survived by his girlfriend, Cynthia Reeves; step-son, Christopher Reeves; brothers, Wilbur Smith and wife, Donna, and David Smith and wife, Wanda; and sisters, Rhonda Maxwell and Nancy Alford.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Joshua Reilly officiating and the U.S. Navy performing military rites.
