Richard "Ricky" Thomas Kelley, age 57, of Wallace left his earthly vessel to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early on Friday, April 7, 2023.

Ricky was born on January 20, 1966 in New Hanover County and was the son of Betty Teachey Kelley of Wallace and the late Reverend Larry Thomas Kelley.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Kelley.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his devoted wife Teresa Cavenaugh Kelley of the home; son the Reverend Brandon Kelley and wife Sarah of Wallace; daughter, Courtney Kelley Hollingsworth and husband Justin of Wallace; grandchildren Isaac Kelley and Lydia Kelley; sister Susan Kelley Rivenbark and husband Scottie of Wallace; sister-in-law Carol Kelley of Wallace; his canine companions, Petey, Izzy and Nina and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved dearly.

Ricky was a loving husband and caring son, father, grandfather, and brother.  He enjoyed the simplest things in life, but his greatest joy was his family.  Ricky enjoyed rabbit hunting, cooking, and feeding people.  He was a jack of all trades and could do just about anything.  He was a hard worker and enjoyed logging along side of his father and brother for many years.  Most of all, Ricky was a Godly man with great integrity, an humble spirit, and as those who knew him….very tender-hearted.  Having a deep relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Ricky demonstrated his love and faith in the way he lived his life.  He will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Ricky.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday April 10, 2023 at Poston Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Kelley, Pastor Buster Price and Pastor Chris Jarman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the church prior to the service.

Burial will follow the service at Little Pin Hook Cemetery, Teachey, NC

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Poston Baptist Church – Wallace Christian Academy, 4121 S NC Hwy 11, Wallace, NC  28466.
