Ricky Dan
Johnson
Nov 4, 1952 — Jun 25, 2013
Ricky Dan Johnson, 60, of Watha passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his home.
He was born November 4, 1952 in Burgaw and was the son of Ruby Gurganious Johnson and the late Norman Ray Johnson. Also lovingly remembered are Ricky's brothers, Randy Johnson and Ray Johnson, who preceded Ricky in death.
In addition to his beloved mother, Ricky is survived by his sister, Paula J. Meadows and her daughter, April Meadows; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ricky served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was retired from Yellow Freight Company.
After retiring from his job, Ricky moved back home to be with his beloved mother. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all of God's beautiful nature. In years past he was a sharp pool shooter and excelled in playing horseshoes. Cherished memories of Ricky will always remain in the hearts of family and friends.
A graveside service and burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Gurganious Cemetery with Pastor Garner Eakins officiating.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the graveside service and at other times at the home of Ruby Johnson.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
