Obituary

His life was rooted in a love for family and a strong Christian faith.

Ricky Lane West was a truly special and remarkable man who left a lasting positive impression on all those who knew him. Ricky passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026 while on a cruise ship with his wife and family. He was doing what he loved best – spending happy time with family.

He was born May 2, 1959 in Lumberton, the son of Elwood West and Imogene Sinclair Owens. In addition to his parents Ricky was preceded in death by a son, Clay Rivenbark.

Ricky is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Kim Davis West; children, Delanna West (Brad Adams), Rick West, Brystal Murray (Brad), and Kirk Rivenbark; daughter-in-law, Tammy Rivenbark; grandchildren, Colton Adams, Cameron Slavin, Matt West, Malachi Murray, Paris Murray, Elijah Murray, Jolene Murray, Sadie Murray, Cali Murray, Morgan Rivenbark, Brant Rivenbark, Aaliyah Dragone (Chris), Leigha DeVine (Joe), and Michelle Moser (Jamie); ten great grandchildren; brothers, Edwin West (Elizabeth) Dennis West (Lucy), and Elwood West Jr. (Kim); sisters, Bobbie Hunt (Clyde), and Audrey West; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ricky embraced life with an adventurous spirit and found much joy spending time in the outdoors. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, and taking scenic rides through the mountains on his Harley-Davidson. He also treasured the simple pleasure of gathering with friends for a game of cards and sharing laughter and fellowship. For several years, Ricky proudly owned and operated a convenience store in Currie, where he became a familiar face to many in the community. Above all, his life was rooted in a love for family and a strong Christian faith. He loved the Lord wholeheartedly, and his faith served as the foundation of his life, guiding him with hope, kindness, and unwavering devotion.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
