Obituary

Robert Cecil Anderson, Jr., of Rocky Point passed gently from his earthly life Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 4, 1953 in Greenville, SC, the son of Robert Cecil Anderson and Lilie Mae Thomas Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Anderson.

Robert is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie Anderson; children, Christie Hoover (Kelvin), Paul Rivenbark (Liz), Brandie Anderson (Daniel Garrison), Sarah Prevatte (Jason), Brandi Rowe, Katlyn Gaskins (TJ); son, Stephen Rowe; grandchildren, Camryn, Brayden, Kristen, Naomi, Eli, Waylen, Ryver, Samuel, and Xena; sisters, Jean Yongue (John) and Doris Lamb; and many friends.

He was a member of Gateway Community Church where he was very active and served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Deacons. By career, Robert was employed in maintenance with Pender County Government.

Robert was a loving husband and a caring daddy, granddaddy, brother, and friend. He loved and served his Lord and the life he lived was an inspiration to many folks. Being a caring and thoughtful man, he was a mentor to many people. Robert loved and was loved in return by so many. Robert's contribution through ministries and food outreach touched so many lives here in Pender County. His presence in our family circle and in his church will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Gateway Community Church Family Life Center, 416 W. Bridgers Street, Burgaw NC with Pastor Ted Mercer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Robert may be given to Community Outreach Ministries, PO Box 1261, Burgaw, NC 28425.
