Robert Samuel Flynn, age 85, of Exeter Township, PA and formerly of Currie died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Golden Living Center.

He was born August 31, 1923 in Currie, the son of the late Joseph Fletcher and Mollie Elizabeth Robinson Flynn. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Inez Matthews Flynn in 2007 and his son-in-law, Lawrence H. Crabtree, Sr.

Surviving are his son, Robert James Flynn (Faith) of Delmar, DE; daughters, I. Marie Crabtree of Reading, PA and Phyllis Ann Mullin (Thomas) of Norristown, PA; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and half-sisters, Etta Mae Grimes and Lucille Phillips.

Mr. Flynn was a member of Exeter Bible Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WW II. Retiring in 1978, he had been employed with Bethlehem Steel, Pottstown, PA for 26 years. He was a former member of the AFLCIO and the Gideons International.

Robert loved and served his family, his Lord and church. His life was a living example of his Christian faith and beliefs.

The family will receive friends at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home on Friday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home with The Rev. Eugene Ridley and The Rev. Lawrence Crabtree, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens, Warsaw, NC.

Casketbearers will be Brad Crabtree, Tom Flynn, Chad Grabert, Buster Merritt, Millard Murray, and Al Goodwin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to I. Marie Crabtree, Custodian FBO Jordan L. Flynn, 4903 Mayapple Lane, Reading, PA 19606.
