Robert F. George Sr., 80, of Rocky Point, went to his Lord and Savior on August 26th, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.
Frank was born on February 23, 1935 and was preceded in death by his Father, John E. George, Mother, Essie Pugh George, Brothers: Ernest, Lucky, John E. Jr., David, Billy and Sister Diane Gibbs.
Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Lockey George, his daughter Juanita (Nita) Huckaba, and son Robert F. George, Jr. (Kari); brothers Joe (Emma) and Bobby George and a Sister, Carol Ogden; grandchildren are Rae Ann, Crystal, and Christopher (Rebecca); Great Grandchildren are Taylor, Savannah, and Owen, and loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy and Jeannette Ramsey and John and Diane Gordon.
Frank served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hector AR-7 during the Korean War, and was a paratrooper in the Army. He had a black belt in Bushin Kai Karate, loved swimming, and scuba diving.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 12, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Windermere Presbyterian Church at 104 Windemere Road in Wilmington.
