Robert Eric Lee, 69, of Long Creek Community of Rocky Point passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at his home. Eric was born January 28, 1944 in Wilmington, the son of the late Robert E. and Evelyn Woodcock Lee.

Eric is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Gail Herring Lee; son, Christopher Eric Lee (Roberta); daughter, Thea Lee Herring (Steven); and grandchildren, Joshua Robert Lee, Ivy Madison Herring and Sidney Marie Herring.

Eric was a member of Castle Hayne Baptist Church. For many years Eric was owner of Lee Farms and Nursery.

Eric was a devoted husband and loving daddy, granddaddy and friend. His quiet faith and thankfulness for blessings spoke clearly to his family and friends. Eric possessed a keen intellect, sharp wit and engaging personality. Amongst the legacies that Eric leaves are the importance of God, family, community and friends. Fond memories of Eric will always remain close in our hearts.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Herrings Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Fowler and Rev. Rick Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
