Robert Earl Waters, 68, of Atkinson passed peacefully from his earthly life on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 10, 1949 in Wilmington, the son of the late Robert Warfield Waters and Dorothy Weeks Waters Adams.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sara Grant Waters; brother, Yates Douglas Ward; sister-in-law, Sandra Grant Hurd; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was a retired machinist from General Electric Company (Aircraft Division), Castle Hayne.

Burial of Robert's cremated remains will be at a later date.

Robert's last gift on this earth was the gift of sight to a visually impaired person through Miracles of Sight.
