Robert Herman Wilson, age 79, of Wilmington died Monday, May 9, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 3, 1931 in Pender County, the son of the late Claudie and Eula Gaddy Wilson.

Herman is survived by his wife, Janice Carter Wilson; daughter, April Williamson of Wilmington; granddaughter, Savannah Williamson; sister, Jo Ann Kuhn (Bill) of Greenville, NC; brother, Kenneth Wilson (Veronica) of San Antonio, TX and several nieces and nephews.

He served his country honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Herman was a devoted husband and loving daddy, granddaddy, brother and friend. His love of nature and the outdoors was revealed by his manicured yard and beautiful flowers. Herman was a hard worker, was always friendly and had a great sense of humor. Most important of all Herman loved his family and had an abiding faith in the Lord. Cherished memories of Herman will always remains in our hearts.

Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Tony McGhee officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
