Roel Venecia

Roel Venecia, age 72, of Rose Hill passed away unexpectantly on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

He was born on June 14,1954, in Sandwich, Illinois to the late Heraclio Venecia and Dora Cantu’. He was also preceded in death by his brother Juan Heraclio Venecia and his beloved great grandmother Atilana Flores.

Roel was a dedicated master diesel mechanic. He enjoyed working on diesels and was very good at it.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his son Roel Venecia Jr. and Johnny Lee Venecia; daughter Myda Elena Venecia; granddaughter Yuri Grand; grandsons Alec Venecia, Noah Venecia and Jonathan Venecia; great grandchildren Christopher and Max; siblings Clemencia Finkley, Flerida Venecia, Eliu Venecia, Sergio Venecia, Jael Rodriguez, Elena Ramirez, Eliseo Venecia, Serapio Venecia, Arnoldo Venecia, Rene Venecia, Pedro Venecia, Dora Valencia, Maria Margarita Valencia; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Roel was a devoted father and caring brother who loved his family dearly. He was a kind and simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a hard worker and businessman who had his own diesel repair shop. He did well because he was honest and always willing to help others in need. Roel never met a stranger and was a real gentleman. He loved being outdoors mowing grass and working on machinery such as lawn mowers and vehicles. Most of all, Roel was a good listener. He took great pride in really listening to those who were talking and he judged no one. Roel will surely be missed but he will never be forgotten.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. The place will be announced soon.
