Roger Lee Carlton, 77, of Ivanhoe, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

Born on September 15, 1948, in Rockingham County, North Carolina, Roger was the fifth son of thirteen children of the late Raymond Carlton and the late Lessie Bright Carlton.

Roger found his greatest happiness in the outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the woods or casting a line in a quiet fishing spot, he appreciated the peace and beauty of nature. He also had a talent for woodworking and enjoyed building and creating with his hands. His craftsmanship reflected his patience, dedication, and willingness to share his talents with family and friends.

Above all, Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He loved his family deeply and treasured every moment spent with them.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Nadine Dew Carlton; his daughters, Amanda Lynn English (Douglas) and Victoria Nadine Bordeaux (Eric); his grandchildren, Bryan English, Shana Starling (Chris), and Katie Jacobs (Chris); several great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

A graveside service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
