Roger Felix King, age 51, of Burgaw died unexpectedly Monday, August 22, 2011 in Sampson County.

He was born November 30, 1959 in Burgaw to Radie Wheeler King of Watha and the late Junior Roger King. Also remembered are his wife Sandra "Sandy" Rivenbark King and his brother, Murrell King, who preceded Felix in death.

In addition to his beloved mother, Felix is survived by his wife, Brenda Lee King; step-son, Earl Pierce II (Samantha) of Watha; brothers, Paul King (Cindy) of Havelock, Milton King (Lisa) of Stanley and Michael King (Lisa) of Watha; sister-in-law, Deloris King Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

Felix loved his family and was always so sharing and caring with them. Enjoying the outdoors, Felix loved fishing and even enjoyed cutting grass which he did to perfection. His bountiful smile, faith in God and love for family and his fellowman were first and foremost in his life. Cherished memories of Felix will forever remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Timothy Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. Casketbearers were Larry Rivenbark, Anthony King, J. R. Chadwick, Kenny Lewis, Tony Robinson and Jeff McPherson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Radie Wheeler King.
