Roger Lee Norris, Sr., age 72, of Charleston, South Carolina passed from this earthly life to his eternal rest on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from the Brian Center of Wallace, NC.

Born on August 16, 1950, in Duplin County, Mr. Norris was the son Evelyn Worrell Norris of Willard, NC and the late Benjamin Curtis Norris.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Constance Ann McClure Norris and his brother Ray Norris.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his sons, Lee Norris and wife Amy of Burgaw, NC, and Wade Norris and wife Farrah of Wallace; step daughter, Roxanne Talent and husband Guy of Charleston, SC; step son Billy Bessinger of VA; grandchildren, Chase Norris and wife Micala, Tyler Norris, Brenen Norris and wife Courtney, Dylan Norris and wife Desalin, Bladyn Norris, Branson Norris and Jessica Burn and husband Paul; great grandchildren, Allison Norris and Peyton Burn; brother, Steve Norris and wife Joyce of Penderlea; sister Deborah Johnson and husband Forrest of Magnolia; special aunt, Jody Lea and husband Gary of Hampstead; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Roger dearly.

Roger was a caring father, grandfather and brother who loved his family with all his heart.  He was a simple man who enjoyed simple things such as fishing, working in his yard and just being outside in God's beautiful nature.  Roger also enjoyed watching racing and wrestling in his spare time.  With a big heart, Roger would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.  He loved to laugh and to see others laugh.  Most of all, Roger accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and is now in the Lord's presence forevermore.  Roger will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Peniel Church Cemetery, Willard, NC.

Pallbearers will be Roger's grandson, Chase Norris, Tyler Norris, Brenen Norris, Dylan Norris, Bladyn Norris and Branson Norris.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
