Ronald Wayne Haire, 78, passed peacefully from his earthly life Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Wayne was an avid golf game player and was quite proficient at the game.

He was born May 26, 1948 in Bladen County, the son of William Haire and Gladys Barnhill White. In addition to his parents Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Haire.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Paige Haire (Caleb Fanning); grandson, Nathan Haire; sister, Paula Marek (Billy); nieces, Lisa Caison (Joe) and Kayla Marek; many extended family members all who loved Wayne.

Wayne served his country proudly in the US Army. He was retired from General Electric having worked in both GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy and GE Aerospace. He was an intelligent and dedicated worker.

Wayne was an avid golf game player and was quite proficient at the game. He also enjoyed shooting pool where he spent many hours around the pool table. Most important in Wayne’s life was his family and he enjoyed family time. For a number of years Wayne lived on Black River where he enjoyed the peace and quiet of country river living. Wayne was loved and will be truly missed.

Funeral service for Wayne will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
