Ronnie James English, age 76, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on August 14, 1946 in Duplin County, NC to the late James English and Maybell Meadows Riley.

Ronnie was a hard worker. He was dedicated to his friends and his job at GE, where he worked for 42 years. Ronnie had a good sense of humor and an umatched wit. He loved fishing, hunting, and could handle a rifle like no other. Inspired by his mom, Maybell, Ronnie was fantastic at country cooking. He was a loving father with a big heart, who was always loyal to his family.

Ronnie is survived by his sons, Christopher Lee Baynes (Angela) and Taylor English; daughter, Joanna English; brother, Norman English (Doris); and grandchildren, Alyssa Baynes, Reagan King, Jackson King, and Austin Hinkley, Jr.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Dunn English; and sister, Lois Eason.

A memorial service will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2pm with longtime friend and neighbor Bill Williams officiating. Following the service, there will be a visitation between 3pm and 5pm at the funeral home.
