Rosa Shelton Malpass Mitchell, 78, of Magnolia left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Friday, July 15, 2016.

She was born on April 9, 1938 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Clarence P. and Annie Belle Maxwell Malpass. She was also predeceased by her husband, William Earl Mitchell.

Surviving is her devoted son, Clarence "Buddy" Mitchell and wife, Diana of Magnolia; grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Stokes and husband Stratton, Andrew Clarence Mitchell and wife Kaitlyn and Kelsey Elaine Mitchell; great grandson, William Bryce Mitchell and 'special daughter, Betty Casteen of Magnolia.

Rosa was a loving mother and caring grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a diligent homemaker and with a joyful spirit she filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered. Being a good neighbor and friend she was loved by all who knew her. Rosa was a great woman of faith who served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and lived a life that glorified Him. Rosa will be truly missed, and will remain a warm memory in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with her son, Pastor Clarence "Buddy" Mitchell officiating.

Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens, Warsaw.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, one hour prior the service at the funeral home.
