Rose Kerr Bordeaux, a life-long resident of Castle Hayne passed away on Monday, April 13th after a long illness. She was born December 12, 1924 in Castle Hayne, one of nine children and the oldest daughter of Clarence and Blanche Kerr, prominent farmers in a time before electricity and indoor plumbing. Rose remembered her time growing up on the farm with fondness and continued a love of working in her yard as long as she was able. She was a quiet woman of determined character.

Rose was married to the love of her life for 69 years and will be interred next to her husband Ralph Bordeaux in the Bordeaux Family Cemetery on Oakley Rd at 2PM, Wednesday, April 15th, 2015. The family will receive friends at the home at 1521 Oakley Road in Castle Hayne from 1-2 PM Wednesday.

She is survived by three sons, Ralph R. Bordeaux, Jim Bordeaux and wife Caroline, Dennis K. Bordeaux and wife Kim, four grand-children, John, Melissa, Jennifer and Ralph, and three great-grandsons, Brandon, Michael and Wyatt. The family extends special thanks to Margaret Mercer for the loving care and dedication she provided our mother during the past two years.
