Obituary

Ruby Wells Norris, age 93, of Wallace passed from this life to her eternal rest on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.

She was born on January 10, 1928 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Ranford G. and Margie Jane Mobley Wells.  She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, Edgar W. Norris; her loving children, Denise Norris Smith on January 19, 2021 and Edgar Milton Norris on June 23, 2021; sisters, Letha Watts Forrest, Lillian Posey and brother, Ranford Wells.

Ruby was a life-long member of Poston Baptist Church. She worked for many, many years at Ben Franklin Dime Store in Wallace where she met so many people and loved them all.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving granddaughter, Amy Mangiacapra and husband, Louis of Mims, FL and her grandson, Jason Smith and wife, Mary Katheryn of Rose Hill; great grandchildren, Kristal Mulholland and husband, Nolan, Louis P. Mangiacapra and wife, Monica, Tyler Mangiacapra and wife, Rachel, Adam Mangiacapra, Isabella Mangiacapra and Tristan Matthews; great-great grandchildren, Samuel Mulholland, Seth Mulholland, Lily Mangiacapra, Louis P.R. Mangiacapra, and Wyatt Mangiacapra; sister, Lila Belle Cashwell and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Ruby was a loving mother and caring grandmother, sister and friend.  She was a hard worker who helped provide for her famiy.  Being a simple woman, Ruby loved simple things and lived a simple life.  She was proud of her children and especially her grandchildren.  Ruby was a great woman of faith.  She loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ and her life was a great example of her great love.  Working as a sales clerk in the town of Wallace, Ruby was known by everyone, especially the children she met at Ben Franklin's.  She acquired many friends while working there.  Ruby was a good hearted lady who loved others and was loved in return.  She will surely be missed but she will never be forgotten.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Poston Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Jarman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00a.m. at the church, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial gifts be sent to Poston Baptist Church,  4121 S NC Hwy 11,  Wallace, NC  28466
