Obituary

Ruby Rae Norris Parker, age 89, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from the Brian Center of Wallace.

She was born on October 7, 1930 in Pender County, NC and was one of eleven children of the late Benjamin and Viola Wells Norris.  She was also predeceased by her husband, George Franklin Parker, her son, Michael Allen Parker; sister, Mary Ruth Parker and brothers, Benjamin Norris, Vance Norris Gene Allen Norris and Isaac Benjamin Norris.

Mrs. Parker was a member of Wallace Church of God.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Judy P. Mobley and husband, Greg, Randy Parker and wife, Joyce, Gary Parker and Donald Parker, all of Wallace; grandchildren, Gregory Mobley (Joy), Amanda M. Barnett (Neal), Jonathan Mobley (Stacy), Eric Parker (Tracey), Melissa Wheeler (Carl), Scott Parker, Dwayne Parker (Anna), Braxton Parker (Angel), Curtis Parker (Ashley), Donald Parker, Jr (Mary), James Parker (Michelle), Michelle P. Casteen (Greg), Sherry Teachey, Amy Hatcher and Bradley Parker; great grandchildren, Amber Mobley, Alex Mobley, Emily Barnett, Charles Allen Barnett, Ali Rae Barnett, Parker Barnett, Trey Parker, Erica Parker, Braden Parker, Ethan Stone, Mason Stone, George Allen Parker, Grayson Parker, Grayle Anna Parker, Talon Parker, Holden Parker, Leighton Parker, Riley Parker, Ashley Parker, Daniel Horne, Curtis Horne, Laken Murray, Chase Teachey, Haley Parker, Zack Parker, Dillon Casteen, Austin Casteen and Clayton Hatcher; numerous great-great grandchildren; sisters, Perlene Davis of Nine Mile and Evelyn N. Parker of Wallace; brothers, John Norris of Penderlea, James Norris of Nine Mile and Carlyle Norris of Wilmington and numerous extended family and friends that loved Ruby dearly.

Ruby was a wonderful mother and sister who loved her children, grandchildren and siblings with all her heart.  She had a love for the Lord and was a great example to her family.  Being an instrument of God's love on this earth, Ruby was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle and loving presence to all who were blessed to know her.  She looked for and encouraged the best in everyone that she knew; and was a shoulder upon whom many found comfort. Ruby will surely be missed but treasured memories of her will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:00am at Parker Family Cemetery near Deep Bottom (Wallace).

The family request that instead of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Wallace Church of God, 1173 Bay Road, Teachey, NC  28464.
