Ruby "Mema" Morgan Swinson, 85 of Wilmington went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Dave and Annie Murray Morgan.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 61 years Burris Swinson of Wilmington, children Deborah Swinson Goodwin and husband Lynn of Castle Hayne, Donald Burris Swinson and wife Denise of San Antonio, TX, Susan Swinson Matthews of Hampstead, Kelvin Eric Swinson of Wilmington, grandchildren Jennifer Goodwin Weisman and husband Samuel, Andrew "Drew" Matthews and wife Sara, Wesley Goodwin, Trent Matthews and wife Courtney, Daniel John Burris Swinson, Caleb Alexander Swinson, 3 great grandsons Jacob, Jace and Jaxton, sister Mildred Morgan McGee Elderdice, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She was a member of Ogden Baptist Church since November 1963. Ruby was a caregiver for children for many years. It began in earnest in her Northwoods home with Mark Brooks back in 1971 and continued until her retirement.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday, Sept. 24th, 2014 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home, 315 Willow Woods Drive in Wilmington. Funeral service will be 11AM Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment Oleander Memorial Gardens.
