Emma Ruth Brown Futrell

Emma Ruth Brown Futrell, age 66, of Wallace died Friday, January 27, 2012 at Quinn Hospice Care Center in Kenansville.

She was born July 1, 1945 in Duplin County; the daughter of the late James Penelope and Myrtle Edith Antwine Brown. She is predeceased by her sons, Charles Futrell and Albert Futrell; sisters, Mary Brown, Cora Slonaker and Nina Ritter and brother, James Brown.

Surviving is the "˜love of her life' for 47 years, her devoted husband, Charles Futrell; children, Timothy "Timmy" Futrell of Wallace, Ronnie Futrell of Beulaville and Charlotte Losaw (Mark "Snapper") of Wallace; grandchildren, Crystal Best, Charles Best, Jonathan Losaw, Heather Losaw, Samuel Futrell, Jenna Futrell and Miranda Futrell; great granddaughter, Lisa Losaw and sister, Anna Casto of Currie.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel and other times at the home of Charles and Ruth.

Graveside funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha with the Rev. Reid Casteen officiating.

Ruth was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting and going to casinos, but she especially enjoyed fishing. Ruth was fascinating to listen to as she was very intelligent about so many things in life. Cherished memories of Ruth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
