Ruth Ann McMullen Kemp, 69, of Wilmington passed from her earthly life on Saturday March 12, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born January 26, 1947 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late William and Louise Wiggins McMullen.

She is survived by her children, Debra Kemp, William "Billy' Kemp, and Teresa Kemp all of Leland; grandchildren Timothy Cramer, Jacob Kemp, Joseph Kemp, Ashley Cramer, Trevor Cramer Tyler Kemp, Immage Kemp and Shylo Kemp; great grandson Bentley Hammock; sister Brenda Rich of Burgaw and niece, Devona Lewis of Burgaw.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was strong in spirit. Most important in Ruth's life was being a homemaker and always being there for her children. She had a great love for sports, especially football. Precious memories of Ruth will always remain in our hearts.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 15 from 6 to 8pm at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Bradley Creek Chapel, 315 Willow Woods Drive in Wilmington.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Pastor David Guthrie officiating.
