Salvatore Carrera Jr. (Sal), 56, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on December 23, 2024, at home.

Sal was born on June 17, 1968, in Suffolk County, NY, to the late Salvatore and Elvira Carrera. He graduated from New Hanover High School. Sal started his own successful business, known as Mint Condition, providing services to Wilmington-based car dealerships. He went on to become a General Manager at West Marine and the West Coast and Texas district and regional manager for BoatUS. More recently, he worked as a maintenance and operations assistant for Hieronymus Brothers Seafood.

Sal enjoyed painting and cooking. He often cooked elaborate meals for friends and family to enjoy.  Sal's humor and ever-present sense of fun will be remembered and missed.

Sal is survived by his children, Jeremy Carrera and Abby Carrera; his brothers, Arthur Carrera and Steven Carrera (Andrea); his sister-in-law, Atlanta Carrera; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Sal was also preceded in death by his brother, Reynold Carrera.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 -4 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington.
