Obituary

Sam Henry Ingram, Jr., 86, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Born on February 3, 1927, he was the son of the late Sam Henry and Frances Brooks Ingram. He was also predeceased by his grandson, Dylan Costin and sister, Eunice Boyette.

Mr. Ingram served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII. He was retired with Carolina Power and Light Company after 40 years of service and a member of Willard Baptist Church.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving children, Laura Holt (Lonnie), Sam H. Ingram (Ann), Michael T. Ingram (Shelia), all of Wilmington, Michelle Giddeons (Gary) of Willard, Brooks Ingram (Mark Pope) of Magnolia and Walter Costin (Laura King) of Roseboro; grandchildren, Lisa Sanders, John Ingram, Chris Ingram, Ashleigh Ingram, Jenna Ingram and Morgan Ingram; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Sam was a devoted son and loving father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He found great joy in the simplest of things, but his greatest joy was family and spending time and vacations with them. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of his eye and he had a special way to bring his family closer together. Sam was an avid water skier and loved everything about the water, including fishing, boating and eating oysters. With a love for life he enjoyed it to the fullest. Sam will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Sam Ingram.
