Sandra Eileen Gurganious, 65, of Wilmington died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 20, 1944 in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Selden Fredrick and Eileen Batchelor Parnham.

Sandra is survived by her faithful companion of 22 years, James Clarence Boney; sons, David Allen Gurganious and his wife, Cheryl, of Watha, James Selden Gurganious of China Grove, Timothy Dan Gurganious of Watha and Michael Amon Gurganious and his wife, Paula Blizzard of Willard; grandchildren, Sandy Gurganious, Montana Gurganious, Rilee Gurganious, Tony Marchio and Dominick Marchio; sister, Susan Smith and her husband, Wayne, of LaGrange, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

Sandra loved her family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She loved the outdoors, riding horses and spending time with family and friends. Her bright and shining personality will long live in our hearts.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.

Inurnment will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Gurganious Family Cemetery. Following the inurnment there will be a gathering of family and friends at the home of Franklin Gurganious.
