Sara Bradshaw Greer Long, age 69, of Castle Hayne and formerly of Burgaw passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 after her second long battle with cancer.

She is survived by her children, Gary, Bobby and Cathey Greer; grandchildren, Alex Greer and Casey Flowers; sister, Barbara McQueen and brothers, Woody and Phil Bradshaw. Sara is also survived by many extended family and loyal friends.

Sara has gone to join all of those who preceded her in death, most recently her mother, Evelyn B. Thomas on November 25, 2008. We know that God will comfort and keep them and when we look toward heaven they will be looking back at us.

Sara, a devoted member of Jordans Chapel United Methodist Church, loved her Lord, her family and her fellowman. Her life was beauty, truth, goodness, and generously sharing with others.

From the family we would like to thank all of those who have shared this journey with our mom and us. You will never be forgotten. May God bless you all.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the home of Cathey Greer, 103 Hyacinth Ave., Castle Hayne.

A graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at Jordans Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4670 Stag Park Rd., Burgaw NC 28425 with Pastor William Hill Pearsall, Pastor Randall Smith and Pastor Haywood "Butch" Kelly officiating.
