Sarah Benson Pawlick, age 67, of Elgin, SC and formerly of Wilmington died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at her home.

She was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Jewel and Blannie Downing Benson. She was also predeceased by her husband, William John Pawlick, son, Nicholas John Pawlick and special uncle, Dalton Downing.

Surviving are her daughters, Tamara A. Jones and Paula C. Berends both of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Shamene E. Jones of Virginia Beach, VA, Angelena M. Jones and Albin C. Chason both of Elgin, SC; great grandson, Ayden E. Jones of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law, Dorothy Orren of Howell, NJ; cousins, Brenda Rhyne (Ricky) of Atkinson, Marie Brown (Ronnie) of Wilmington, Frances Nunalee (Nolan) of Currie, Helen Delelo (John) of Browns Mill, NJ and Connie Lavelle of Dexter, MA; niece, Michelle Gallucci of Howell, NJ; lifelong friends, Jim and Pat Shepard of Sarasota, FL. and friend, Anna Chason of Elgin, SC.

Sarah was a graduate of New Hanover High School. She was a generous, caring lady who loved her family and friends dearly. Her calming manner, her grace and the joy she brought to others will never be forgotten. Cherished memories of Sarah will always remain in our hearts.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel with Chaplain Roger Rich officiating.

Burial will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson, NC.
