Sharon Burkett Suggs, 56, of Burgaw passed peacefully from her earthly life on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at her home.

She was born September 7, 1959 in Hickory, the daughter of Lonnie Edward and Mary Carolyn Beard Burkett.

In addition to her parents, Sharon is survived by her husband, Huger "Gene" Suggs; daughter, Destiny Suggs and her husband, Michael Lenser; son, Matthew Suggs and his wife, Samantha; grandsons, Tyler and Nolan Suggs; sister, Jane Ogden and husband, Bob; brother, Doug Burkett and wife, Angie; and many extended family.

Sharon was a certified nursing assistant for over 25 years, a profession she loved. She was an animal lover, avid gardener, reader of books and shell seeker. Sharon was happiest when outside at the beach watching the tide ebb and flow. When not at the beach she could be found at home with an open book. Sharon loved everyone to the moon and back. Her family will miss her smile, her laughter and wicked sense of humor, but most of all they will miss the biggest heart that planet earth has ever known.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Rev. Ted Mercer officiating.
