Shelby Lanier Wood Heath, 77, of Wallace was born in Duplin County, and was the daughter of the late Brosiah and Bessie Smith Lanier. She is predeceased by her husband and the father of her children, Joseph Edward Wood, their son, Joe Eddie Wood and her second husband, Walter Heath.

Surviving are her devoted children, Anita Wood of Wallace, Beverly Jones and husband, Paul of Willard, Timothy Wood and wife, Myra Jo of Fountaintown and Marty Wood of Wallace; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Lou Byrd and husband, Elton "Speck" of Lyman and Reba Foy and husband, Victor of Jacksonville and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Shelby was a devoted wife and caring, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed the simplest things of life but her greatest joy was her family whom she loved dearly. Shelby's family is grateful to God for her life and for your kindness, friendship and prayers.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Cavenaugh Cemetery, NC Hwy 41, Wallace with Pastor Louise Wood officiating.
