Shirley Anne Rackley Brown, 81, of Watha passed gently from her earthly life on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Ashe Gardens Memory Care in Burgaw where Shirley was lovingly cared for.

She was born February 7, 1934 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Huey Rackley and Sally English Rackley Walker. Also remembered are her siblings, Lucille Ross, Dewey Rackley and Linwood Rackley, all who preceded Shirley in death.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Linwood Brown; her children, Vickie Allen, Erich Webber (Beverley) and Dana Kincaid (Jason); grandchildren, Katie Allen, Ethan Webber, Danson Kincaid and Rackley Kincaid; sister, Bessie King and many nieces and nephews, including three special nieces, Yvonne, Brenda and Teresa.

She was a long time employee in the shipping and receiving department of Leslie Lock now G.A.S.

Shirley loved her family, especially her grandson, Ethan. Having a special gift to work with and train animals, Shirley was noted for her work with German Shepherds and horses. She maintained a great relationship through horses with her great great niece, Karson. Shirley will be remembered for her sweet smile, warm heart and gentle spirit.
