Skylar Renee Mullins, age 21, our sweet girl, left our lives on Tuesday, 26 September 2023, in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Skylar was born on 16 July 2002 in Wilmington, North Carolina, the beautiful daughter of Autumn Leigh Dearing and the cherished sister of Taylor Owen Dearing. She was the biological daughter of Matthew Bryan Mullins.

Skylar came into this world against many odds, but her spirit was fierce and strong, and she grew to be the beautiful young woman we love so much. Her death was an unexpected and tragic loss for all that knew and loved her.

From the moment Skylar found her voice, she loved to sing. She also used her voice to defend and protect her family and friends. Skylar was never shy about speaking her mind. She was always exactly who she was and never pretended anything different.

Besides her family and friends, Skylar loved her kitty, "Baby," dancing and music, and Justin Bieber from the moment she heard him sing! Skylar loved the moon, the stars, and the ocean, especially when sharing them with her Mama, her brother, Taylor Owen, and her dear friend, Gabby.

We could write a book about our beautiful girl. She was larger than life and will be forever loved and missed. Baby girl, you left us too soon.

Skylar is survived by her mother, Autumn Leigh Dearing and her step-father, Chadwick Floyd; her brother Taylor Owen Dearing (Gabby); maternal great-grandfather, Lee Satterwhite; maternal grandparents, Jere Warren Dearing and Jeri Leigh Satterwhite-Dearing; maternal uncles, Doug Satterwhite (Terry), Dale Ramsing (Kee), Jessey Dearing (Lauren), Corey Dearing (Sadie), Jacob Dearing (Jennifer), Conner Dearing (Sara); maternal cousins, Westley Satterwhite, Jade Ramsing, Ollie Ramsing, and Juniper Zayda Dearing-Frohne.

Skylar is survived by her biological father, Matthew Mullins; paternal grandmother, Drema Bell; paternal uncle, David Mullins; paternal aunt, Minna Ware; paternal cousins, Kyra Mullins, Grace Mullins, Damerius Ware, Titus Ware, and Gregory Ware.

Skylar is also survived by so many friends that surrounded her with love, including her work family at P.T.'s Grill at Military Cutoff.

Skylar was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Algerrie "Gerri" Jones, Paul and Marcella Dearing.
