Stanley Taylor Murray, 73, of Burgaw passed gently from his earthly life Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.

He was born November 18, 1946 in Pender County, the son of the late Reuben Taylor Murray and Beaula Johnson Murray. Also remembered is his brother, Fred Murray who preceded Stanley in death.

Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Dianne R. Murray; daughter, Amy Simpson (Eric); grandchildren, Taylor Simpson and Pierce Simpson; brother, Reuben Murray (Debra); sister, Denise Brown; and many extended family and dear friends all who loved Stanley.

Stanley Murray, my beloved husband, my daddy, our granddaddy, our brother, our friend . . . so loving, so generous, so caring . . . who filled our world with gentleness and goodness. How can we ever say thank you enough for all you have given and shared with us. Stanley leaves behind a loving and loved family, good friends and his gentle spirit.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw and at other times will be at the home of Eric and Amy Simpson.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home with The Rev. Merrell McKoy and The Rev. Gardner Eakins conducting the service. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
