Stephen Moore, 57, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away peacefully at his home on August 17, 2021, surrounded by his loving family after a long a gallant fight with cancer.

He was born on January 23, 1964 in Sylva, NC; the son of Katherine Ann Moore of Teachey, NC. Stephen was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Aaron and  Nelliee Moore.

Stephen graduated from Virginia Tech and was proud to show his support as an Alumni. After graduating from college, Stephen begin his own surverying business.

Surviving, in addition to his mother is his special friend, Donna Toma from Leonardtown, MD and numerous cousins and extended family members he loved dearly.

Stephen was a loving son and a friend to all.  He enjoyed sports of all kinds; football, baseball, soccer and others. Years ago, Stephen formed his own co-ed baseball league in Woodbridge, VA.  His favorite pastime was history and especially Civil War history.  Stephen loved life and loved people.  He was a pleasure to be around and a true friend to all who knew him. He will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

For friends in Virginia, a visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Mount Castle Funeral Home, in Woodbridge, VA.

For family and friends in North Carolina, there will be a celebration of life funeral service for Stephen at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Wallace Church of God, 1173 Bay Road, Teachey.  Pastor Todd Narron will conduct the service.

Social distancing and mask are highly reccommended at the services.

A private burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday August, 23, 2021 at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha, NC.  Pallbearers will be Tommy Spearman, Thomas Spearman, Mack Parker, William Parker, Greg Yarborough and Garry Riley.
